Is anyone in the San Francisco area that can/wants to take a look at a car for me?

Anyone know if High Permance House has a website? The engine was built there. Phone number off hand?

Thanks

High Performance House has a website at: http://www.highperformancehouse.com/

Rick Bontempi (the owner) has been running the place for roughly 25 years. He knows 914s inside and out. He has also been racing them for a similar length of time. As an engine builder - I would think he'd be in the top 5 in the country. Highly recommended - I go there for parts and advice all the time.

Could you give a bit more information about where in the bay area your car is? The area is quite big and the traffic is quite bad, but there are a lot of 914 owners around, so someone is likely to be close.

The number is: (650) 364-6234

I charge 100$ per car anywhere in the bay area.. you get:

17 years of 914 knowledge

My eyes thru digital pics and a short write up.

I have less experience than Bontempi.. but only because of age. I work very closely with HPH.

The only car I know of that has a HPH engine in it sold a few weeks back (74 2.0 for sale in Berkley)

David,

A hundred bucks for Brad Roberts eyeballs is a good spend. I've watched him go over two cars now -- his eyeballs see more than most. And they definitely see the grotty bits.

(disclaimer -- no direct interest, etc, brad won't give me any of that money, darn it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif))

Yo David,

email doesn't always convey the meaning right -- there are probably a bunch of us that are willing to go and see the car, shoot some pics, ask questions of varying levels of intelligence and so forth, just for the grins. (certainly I am!) Most of us 914 owners have stubbed our toes on some 914 parts and those parts will get the level of examination related to our earlier pain.

That's not the same as a PPI, or a Brad Roberts Examination of course.

But I didn't want to sound like I'm ruling that out. Once you decide what you want, just post here.

Man I love email. Next we'll have to have a "kum-bay-ya" smilie or something.

100 clams for a Brad Roberts PPI is a bargain. A 914 buyer or seller would get an straight evaluation from him.
