A few weeks ago I joined this bbs, and asked some questions about 914 alignment and suspension set up.
I finally was able to pick up the car today ( no blizzards etc) a little about the ex 914-2.0 Engine: 3.2L Webers tall manifolds 1 3/4 dia headers supertraps WebCam 20-21's msd ignition Trans: MSX gears open diff (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Suspension: Raised spindle RSR in front Bilstien sport in rear coil over all round f/r sway bars 600# springs ( sounds way heavy for this car, I havent been able to verify this though) Brakes: from an '87 carerra ( I have turbo calipers soon to go on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) I did a walk around with a smart camber Front 2.0 neg Rear 1.8 neg I already think the car is over sprung, but until I know for sure what springs it has, and drive it a few laps , Ill leave things be for now |

car needs some 1" spacers and fatter rubber.
I have 7&9 fuchs Im thinking of using the 8" rear as my front, and my 9" as the rear with 245s in front and maybe 315s in the rear, thats if I can mount a 315 on a 9 |

TimT,
Do you really think you can put 315's on 9's. That sounds like a bad idea to me. 10's or 11's sound more like 315 sizes. Let me know if you try I'd like to see the results. Nice Car!! |

Very cool!....what an engine in the car! TEST DRIVE!!!!!!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) !!!!!!! 315's on 9's seem a little excessive...try 10's or 295s on a 9
nice (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) |

Yes I was looking for a roller recently.. I was talking with MJHanna about his roller... I was about to buy his car
Then a car came on the market that I was familiar with. The car I bought is a car im very familiar with, my first PCA DE instructor owns (owned) it.. I have been at the track for years and have seen this cars, maintenance and development. I have driven this car, and been a passenger many times. MJ Hannas car would have been cool to buy as a roller, but then I would have to get it to NY from Dallas The car I just bought was about 15 mile from my house I didnt only get a car I got "spares" factory workshop manual 2 yokohamas 2 spare gearboxes a bunch of CV joints and axles a 916 front clip etc Now I can still keep my track skills honed, while I finish my 911 project... |
