These are all good suggestions/advice. I had a hard look at it last night. I think I’ll clean it up, new tires, new chain, new bearings, etc. I had stripped the paint off of it so it is bare aluminum. I’ll take some steel wool to it and some polishing compound. Ride it to see if I really want to get back into it and up grade components as needed.
Thanks again,
Paul

Smart.

And you will be "old school".

My nine year old AMP B4 has the old full size XTR drivetrain (pre-micro drive). Guys at the trail head say "look at that guy's big chainring". LOL

Enjoy it! And don't start drilling holes in that frame. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Before you shop online, please, please, PLEASE check out your local bike shop first. They need your business. I know, because I used to be in the business. Online competition has forced them to be more competitive with their prices, which means they need your business even more. And they can dish out really good advice, too.

Nashbar for the bike overhaul but the body needs a major whipping into shape too.

Yeah except some local shop are assholes. One bad apple ruins the bunch. I have a few I go to but the local shop forced me to learn how to do everything myself.

I once ordered a mountain bike chain rings and he charged me $140. Another time I ordered Record shifters and he charged me $600. I don't go to him for anything other them tubes when I unexpectedly ran out. He has this pissed look on his face when he sees I got new bikes not from him.

I tried to be cool with the guy and I tried to throw buisness his way but every time he just fucked me.

I now strictly go to Bicycle Workshop(which I mentioned at the begining of this post) for repairs even though they are out of my way.
