I am open to leaving anytime on Friday. My preference is to get an early start.

Who else is headed down from the north, OH, KY, TN? What timing?

If you're taking I-65 to Nashville TN., I can meet you here.

Scott (SGB) and I are planning to meet near Chattanooga. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Jake

I've seen pictures of your shop and it's hard for me to believe it's a disaster. Someday, I'm gonna get down there and visit air cooled heaven.

Ya, well we all know you have your unique set of personality traits. Besides those guys aren't going to be looking at the "mess". When was the last time you saw a girl who was really built and all you could look at was the zit on her nose.

LOL..
The old shop (my original playhouse) is probably in it's last year of it's present state. It was built in the 30s and yesterday I found a whole bunch or Termites and powderpost beetles that have weakened it a lot. I have tried my best to keep it pretty much the way it was when I built my first engine inside it, but destruction is imminent. Its getting hard to keep it clean too..

Moving a 7,000 pound lathe and two 5,000 pound mills is not something I look forward to!

Here is my thought on timing

5:30 AM leave my place
7:30 AM meet David near Louisville/Mt Washington
10:15 AM meet up with Gary and Scott in Nashville
2:00 PM meet up with the rest of the party in GA

If you think the timing needs adjusted, let me know.

David -Do you know a convenient place where we can meet?

Gary & Scott - The plan is to meet at Shoney's Restaurant 2645 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN 37214. Isn't there a conveniently located Hooters? -- jk

Doug,
It's just me in Nashville...we're meeting Scott at Chattanooga at about 2:30 Eastern time. The Andretti meet is about 2 hours from there.

Doug,
We can meet in Shepherdsville. I think it is exit 117 on I-65. I can be at the Mc Donalds at 7:30. Make a right off the exit. About a block down. My cell is 502-428-1020

My cell is 812-340-0696. I don't have my phone today, but I'll have it back tomorrow.

We have a disconnect on the timing.

7:30 David and I leave Shepherdsville

10:00 We arrive in Nashville

If we leave Nashville between 10 & 10:30 we will pass through Chattanooga well before 2:30 when Scott is available. If we were to make good time we could be at the Andretti place by 2:30.

Options:

- We leave later from IN/KY to make the 2:30 Chattanooga meeting time work.

- Can Scott join the caravan before 2:30?

- Caravan is not all 4 cars.

I want to keep an early start just because, even thought I am confident in my car's ability to get there and back without issue, there is still that possibility.... I also want to join the party in GA as soon as possible!!!

David, Gary, Scott - Your thoughts?

Doug,
We can meet at a later time. But I would prefer an earlier start to be sure we can arrive on time. I am flexable so just let me know.

Fellers-
I can understand the need for contingency time. I can't get away any earlier, sorry. If you folks want to blaze the trail ahead of me, that is OK. Gary, if you want to roll with the earlier crowd, just let me know. I can actually cut about 30- 45 minutes from my time if I don't go through Chatt. Just let me know what the preferences turn out to be. If email/ PM fails, call 256 655 0788

David - Lets stick with the 7:30 meeting time.

Gary - Let us know your plan/timing. If David and I are making good time, and you are available, you can join us for an earlier travel. If you prefer to stick with the Chattanooga 2:30 meet up with Scott, that is good too. Either way we all will end up partying together in GA.

Gary-

I know you wanted to leave earlier too. It might be too hard to resist as two other 914s pass through Nashville. It won't change my departure time if I go up to Chattanooga, but I would like to know by about 10 am central time tomorrow, Either a reply here, phone call, or PM.
Have a great drive everyone! See ya tomorrow.
