ok, the list has been simplyfied ...

- only one entry per color, only the 914-4 and two-digit 914-6 codes are shown ...

i need the RGB values for:

- Lilac (L40M)
- Sahara Beige (L62O)

also, were those two special order?

Those were special order, along with Aubergine, Sepia Brown, Raspberry, and I think I heard of an original Guards Red one.

List the German names you have and I'll add to it.
I'd remove L96D from 1976, however it and L97A did overlap in 1975.
I'd add in the third code list (V9) to cross reference the info found in the COA's. That is where the U1 & U2 codes come from for the LE's. The LE's still had L041 and L80E on the Karmann badges. Again, the V9 part of the code just refers to the black roof.

Oh yeah, the additional codes for the custom ( 98 ) colors are just for reference. There may be several more colors used under code 98. I have not come across any code 99 cars yet.

Are we exhausted trying to sort this all out yet? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yawn.gif)

Very nice chart, Downside is that Porsche offered paint to match. IE mine is sepia brown as paint to match.

The sepia is code 98 (not L98)
that is why I list them seperately.

I have the 73 color sheets, probably a few extra sets.
I have sheets with actual vinyl and cloth samples for several years, plus some with just photos.

Nice work Sir Andrew...I was wondering how long it would take to get something as good as McMarks color page over here.

2 things: I would delete the U3V9 unless you know of some documentation, that code is purely speculation and unlikely given the information we have to date.

Also...how about some linked photos to nice example cars like the Other 914 Color list had...?

George, please get a photo of the Karmann badge. These oddballs we really need to document. Please provide the VIN and date code also.
