LOL! They both do look rough. And I've seen some bad ones! Usually they look OK at the distance you took the pics at. I bet they smell great inside too! So where are you putting these gems? Back yard? Check for critters before you bring them home! Seriously!

Going to keep them in the drive until I can do the critter check, then I will put the blue in the garage
and start the parting out work. Also the cat is going
to spend a few nights in the garage just incase I missed a critter or two (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I bought two cheap car covers so the neighbors
don't have sh*t fit while these sit in the drive.
I have a neighbor that has a problem with people
having their cars sitting in the driveways. Heck my
drive is three cars wide and can hold nine cars end
to end. You should heard him bitch after my
sons 1st B-day party. He thought I bought all the
cars and was going to sell them from the drive.

Nice guy, I just don't think he has both oars in the
water.

The vin is 4742915266. Are you thinking it my be a
LE car??? It does have all the goodies, fogs, sway bars, wheels, 2.0L, rear window defroster.

Way cool. I leave the computer for a few hours DOING REAL WORK...and I come back to find you guys drooling...

As Dave Pateman said previously...the Creamsicle rims caught my eye and that it was a 74. Also the painted bumpers, and lack of targa bar vinyl. The VIN is right.

See if the paint code is L80E. and that the 1st three digits of the chassis plate are somwhere between 071 and 144.

If its a real LE...you have to save this one. Only ~300 Creamsicles made. But the only way to know for sure, especially this car in this conditions is to get the COA...~$110.

I will say this. IF it is a LE I will save it. It may take
me 20yrs to restore it. I will check the paint code &
chassis plate if things look right I will spring for the
$110 for the COA. I am lucky to have the space to
keep the car and a wife that knows I'm nuts and
understands why I love these cars.

I will be looking to you guys for guidance (sp) since
I have never done any sort or restoration work
before. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

Stay tuned, we will know more thursday.

Garold, you dont necessarily have to restore it yourself if you dont want to...just dont cut it up. It would be worth something to someone else to do it...

There is a list of items to check for on the LE website. If it is am LE...it will be the 111th on the Registry to surface!

I know that. Its just the thought of having a rare
car that I find way cool. Its like one of those stories
you hear about the car in the barn but never think
is true and here it is, I MIGHT have found one just
because I wanted the rims. And to think I have
been driving past it for the past 6 + years watching
it slowly rot away (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Anway, there is no time limit on a restoration project
and I still have my 70 that I drive every chance I get.
So we will see.

Again I am greatful for this site and all of you for the
help & support we give each other. Stay tuned.......

- Garold

PS I can't wait till Thursday, I will try and get over
there tomorrow to look at the paint code & chassis
number.

Well I couldn't stand it, I went over there this
evening. Of course no one was home so I just
peeked over the fence (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) and guess what
the inside door panels are off, and...........
the inside of the doors are WHITE (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) !!!
I almost pissed myself, how cool. This is starting
to look good (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dance.gif)

That was my plan for the 71. Maybe some weekend

I agree Bowlsby. I see white paint under there too.

I'd be very surprised if this wasn't an LE. What are the odds someone would choose to repaint a white car that color and also paint a set of Mahles to match? Garold, there's a great book available called the "Metal Fabricators Handbook"...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well, that is enough evidence for me. It is in my list of LE's. I'm sure Jeff will have it added to the website soon. Be sure to get the engine and transmission for it. Send us the numbers when you can. What colour is the interior? The white cars often got the brown interior. A friend of mine showed up one night last fall with the car he had been working on for several years. As soon as I saw it I got a little suspicious. While it was all black, originally it had been a white LE. Was he surprised to find out that bonus!

I am gonna hold out...this is a real siskel & Ebert show huh... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I need to know the chassis number before it gets a place on the Registry, and even then...I want to see the COA when its available. Oh and I need your real email address Garold, so that other LE owners can find you when they want to have a meet in your area.

Dave...which Creamsicle is currently black? I know of only one...is it the same one? Its Zachs Protzkos car, VIN 14706 Also, of the ~30 or so Creamsicles on the LE Registry, only 2 are tan interior.

Hey Garold,

I'll be up Thrusday evening through the weekend. I don't have a trailer or anything, but I'll help ya get everything loaded up and then unloaded if you need the extra hands. In case the PO happens by this post and realizes his faux pas, maybe an extra guy could help persuade him of the finality of this sale. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
