2007 finds me at a new job. Still doing Technical Writing, but now at a REAL tech company with a shorter commute and better salary (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Not sure I can drive out, as that would require some vacation days I probably won't have, but I might be able to fly out and party (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

OK ....I haven't really followed this too much because of being busy at work and then all of the drama, but I am going to have to keep an eye on this. I may not have a driver, but I know where there is one for sale that the guy would probably let me drive.

Looks like I might get to make up for missing the MUSR this year! I plan on being there in one car or another. Albuquerque was only about 8-9 hours from WF. I'm bettin it's about the same from OKC. Looks like there oughta be plenty of people to "caravan" with out there! Have to see if I can put in for vacation this early. (I'm lovin working for Dell for so many reasons!)

Still need to bring that stub axle back to Dallas...

Betty and I are planning on being there. With two 914s, we can take at least ONE of them and drive out.

If the OK guys are OK with it ,( HUH... I made a funny) we can pick a place to link the DFW and OK Caravans. WF or Abliene would be good. Let's see how many 914s we can get in a caravan headed west!

I'd be happy to link up in WF. My brother is sorta interested in going, but it's a long ways off to be positive.

Not to stir up any dirt, (OK I Am troublemaker) but is the Tee shirt design going to have the "914WORLD" logo on it now, or club NARP, or what?

Also, If I can , please put my name in for the raffle SWA ticket. Is there a donation required to enter or what?

Maybe I should trailer my tub and parts down there and let the drunken hoard converge on it?
that would complete the circle: trailered from NM to ID, ID to WI and WI to NM, and then DRIVEN home!

It's going to be additional miles for Okies to deviate from I-40. I suggest we all meet at my house. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Actually, I think Wichita Falls sounds acceptable and would be worth some extra miles to caravan with our TX bretheren and it would reduce a bit of the interstate boredom.

But Abiline???? Fergettaboutit! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Rea and I have been wanting to get out to the grand canyon and I'm going to try to coordinate that with the atomic ramble. It does sound like it will be a cool event for sure!

Rea had a great time at MUSR8 in Fort Smith this fall, so she's ready to try another P-car event.

I'm ready to make motel reservations. I guess I'm waiting on Joe to announce which ones will be in the vicinity of the events.

Look forward to seeing you guys!

IT would be better for the DFW folks to meet up with the OKC folks in Amarillo. Thats where we would pick up I-40, and you would just come straight across.

Attached Image

It's about the halfway point, and it is 9.5 hours from DFW to ABQ. So we could all meet for lunch in Amarillo.

Now.... We need 2 things. Accommodation information from the event organizers, and we need to know who is going from both DFW and OKC so we can organize the respective caravans.

Well, there has been nothing about this for a while (except in the "win a ticket" thread)...

What is the latest. Is it still on? I saw something on Club NARP about a golf tournament, but still haven't seen any info on Hotels, final numbers, who from DFW or OKC is going.

Any news???

I need to start making plans.

Talk to me about a route...

Rich,

Your about 1300 miles east of des Moines IA. If you stopped there and caught up on your sleep we could meet up and Roll straight through to Denver. If we talk nice to the Ginter's maybe we can crash on their couch again.

Hotel contact info will be put up next week. There won't be a host hotel because Turtle Mountain Brewing is hosting.

I'll simply put up the three locals and their rates. Each is less than a mile to the pub.

Ok, so I leave the 24th, after work...
Then we head out on the 25th...to Denver?
Or am I a day off?
I could meet you there Thurs if that is the idea...
I am still mulling this over...but I have never done a 2500 mile road trip in a 914, so it may be fun.
