New starter (rebuilt Bosch) from one of our favorite sources, but after start, the bendix does not retract and therefore nicks the flywheel during running...
Is there a way to adjust the retract and extend... Extend is great, only retract problem... 2-OH! |

I don't believe that there is any adjustment available on the starter or solenoid. I would be concerned if the starter you recieved may not have been correctly rebuilt so it doesn't retract correctly.
I know that many of the FLAPS have starters that are rebuilt with a bunch of Asian components, and often they don't work correctly. There is an old German electrical rebuilder here in Chicago that says he sees this quite often, and unfortunately can't accept the modified "Bosch" starter for a core anymore. |
