I was wondering if anybody is doing what Joe does in NM here in SoCal? I'm not a strong wrench, so I'm wondering if anybody is up to the task of droping in a 2.4 liter T motor w/CIS in my car. I'd need the whole conversion done. I'm guessing I could go without a cooler but correct me if I'm wrong. Its a weekend driver, prolly no AXing.

Maybe you know of a shop that likes to do this stuff?

Lemme know.

Oh, forgot to add...yeah I'm cheap so I'm looking for someone reasonably priced.

If you annouce that you'll have beer and pizza on a specific Saturday doesn't the SoCal 914 crowd magically turn up on your doorstep, wrenches and jackstands in hand? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yeah, their giving folks out here...but one can only ask so much. A conversion is prolly a little more than one can ask for steaks and brew. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Use Series 9... it's not that far away, and if you do it now, you may be able to pick it up @ the atomic Ramble....

Maybe I should back up...

Is a 73ish 911T motor w/cis a decent candidate for a conversion? Will it fit without cutting metal? If I wanted to carb it, can I do it without changing out the cams? Is there some reason why I would want to run carbs vs the injection?

The CIS will be a tight fit (IIRC) but it will fit. The latch for the engine lid might need to be moved. That is a good engine for conversion. You don't need to change the cams with carbs. If you were to change to a wilder cam you would want carbs of MFI.

need a CIS fuel pump etc....

the intake boot needs to be shaved and the engine latch would need to be relocated.....

carbs can take advantage of wilder cams.
