it is getting darker here in DE but the NoVA traffic cams show nice dry roads.

per weather.com - one last cluster is crossing over now - should be gone soon.

departure - 44 mins and counting down : )

I'm waiting for Evil, Noel, and Ray. Then we will head out. Probably will get there around 1.

It is sunny as can be where I am right now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

What a freak'n great event I wish I could have stayed longer, but my wife is pregnant, and that pretty much trumps everything. So when she said it was time to go, it was time to go.

I can tell it was a great event though. We were there for 7 hours, and when we left it seemed like I had just got there. It started when Mike, Noel, Ray and his son all showed up at my place around 11:30. Immediatly Mike was going for tools to adjust Ray's shifter. We all caravaned down, me leading in the Subaru, Mike on the BMW /6, Noel and Erin in the Vue, and Ray and is son in the 914. We had ~50 people show, and about 15 914s, 2 912Es, 1 944, 1 T4 converted superbeetle, and 1 kicks ass sandrail (which I still want a ride in!). The party was still going strong at 8 when we kicked out.

So: some pics from the event! I did not get any of the group pics. I hope someone will post them, as I would like to see them.
The driveway:

This thing was awesome!

This car was cool. It had a 1.8T from a modern VW in it. The engine bar was LOW though. Watch the bumps!

I made it back to Richmond by 10..... was great to meet everyone and had a great time. I took 190 pictures.... I'll get them uploaded, but it probably won't be until sometime tomorrow night as I have to go to VA beach to pick up the LE tub and then get back on the road to Charlotte.

Cheers,

Mike

i am guessing you guys are still sleeping - well unkonsious from the ruffies the good doc proc slipped in your drinks last night. if you wake up with your pajamas on backwards - you probably need to ask your smiling and smoking cigarette tent mate a few questions (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif)

hey - transaxles don't get repaired for free - gas grass or a#& - no body gets repaired for free (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

now you know what - (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif) in the night truly means (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

We had a great time yesterday, and enjoyed the diversity of cars and the great people that came with them. The scenic drive went well for me and Keri, and I'm envious that I don't have that beautiful drive in my backyard.

I filled up with gas before we left town, and calculated my gas mileage at [b]40.339 mpg! We got home about 10 p.m. (without a hitch or glich) and I-95 traffic was heavy, but flowing well.

Thanks guys!

40mpg - i want one of those : )))

for everyone with pics - create a blog here and upload them there - it is easy and protects the pics forever - probably good to downsize them to 600 wide first though if you have alot of them. a free program to batch downsize is www.irfanview.com

Just got back from the ECC. Camped out overnite on Matts lawn along w/ Root. I haven't seen that many Teeners in one place since I visited AA. Many, many thanks to Matt & his family. Ken- what was in that excellent beer? I'm still hung over! Nice to put faces to names. 17 Teeners showed, but no more than 15 @ one time. 1 944, 2 Bugs & 2 very nice 912Es. Lots of Brownies- I've never seen so many brown interiors. Must have been 5 there. Pics-
