OK, it's 2209 here in Germany and I am on JOC watch...and bored off my friggin ass.
So to the meat of the topic, center console addition. Anyone fabricate one? I have looked at the ones at Pelican and other sites but I am not sure I want to 'buy' one. From what I can tell, the construction is straight forward and I would have to buy the gauges separately anyway. If anyone has fabricated there own I would be appreciative of some pictures and input. |

Not contesting that but, I like to make things myself and, I am also a self proclaimed cheap bastard. Besides I have some additional ideas that I would like to consider incorporating into the design.

Wow! thanks for that link Larry, (and of course to Bil Vogt for the original post) I am missing the bottom panel from my console. So this is just what i've been looking for! |

I made mine for A$12, plus upholstery (I had the whole interior done in leather). I used the pattern form the French club site. I'l post the finished product later...

Nice work Rick.
But check your carpets - your dog looks like he has just done something naughty! |

The finished product...
I'm amazed I didn't catch the dog with a screwdriver in her mouth... she's always stealing my tools! |

I have a somewhat English translation of the French site... you'll figure it out!

Here's some more encouragement to build your own. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)
And if you don't care about making it look exactly like the stock one, improve on the design while you're at it! I'm planning on making a custom one, and making it one unit all the way to the back (or at least more integral) with a deeper storage area between the seats that puts the armrest up a bit higher. And build in a couple of *gasp* cupholders in front of the armrest. |
