That's the best 5 seconds on YouTube!
So cool when mechanical things start happening (pun intended). Big congrats!

WOW, Rick! When I was at your place there was nothing going on with the Alien, and now this! I haven't been keeping up so when I saw the starter video I had to back up lots of pages to see what you've been up to. Impressive is a massive understatement. Can hardly wait to see the Alien again under its own power!

Even though it was minus 16 yesterday I managed to get some serious garage cleaning done. I wanted to move the Celette with the 6 out and move the Alien back in but there was no way I was opening the overhead doors.

I finished the left side header on Saturday night. As soon as it warms up to above zero I wanted to get the engine off the operating table and back under the car. By the way it's minus 17 today. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Great to see the engine for the Alien, and the white six coming along. Do I see fresh paint on the front end of the six in the background?

This cold snap reminds me of the weekend I dropped my six up at your place

Yes, I have the Frunk painted but I can't really paint in this small shop. So I have to try to move the car to a friends shop to finish.

Truly! That was a horribly cold day!

I was thinking about that yesterday. When I did the last exhaust I added what I would call a balance pipe between the two mufflers. Maybe not ideal but it was something.

Balance H pipe will fit in there easier than X...results will be beneficial none the less !

Long tube = best for Tq/Hp >>good on you for making these work ! I'm using these shorties on the v8 Cayenne forced induction engine, no problem on hp loss...just dial in another 2,3,4 psi on the Steamwheel !.
Tight fit in a 914 with lots of hardware, so hence the shorties.

Tight fit is right. This may not be the final version. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I won't know until I slip the unit back under the car. These may end up shorty style also.

The intake and exhaust together make me think that you are already on the road and moving wit a quickness. We are looking at -14 tonight, bet you top that! Stay warm and hope you have a good stock of firewood.

you guys are INSANE!

At -20 we Texans are pussies...

They would cancel EVERYTHING at those temps!

Now, 105 at 90% humidity is a "bit warm" to us.

But it won't KILL you like -20 will.

It's +20 right now and that is TOO DAMN COLD!

-20 is UNWORLDLY!

Ya'll are in my prayers!

11 years ago I made the ~2.5 hour trip north from Minneapolis to drop my car off at Rick’s and it was -26 degrees. That was the coldest I’ve seen in awhile. Tonight it’s set to be -20 degrees here down south. I had hoped to work in the garage, but didn’t have the patience to wait for the heater to bring the garage up to workable temp. It’s amazing how temperate 5 or 10 degrees feels after we’ve spent a couple of days double digits below zero.

It's not quite as impressive as the -24 degrees when I got up in Duluth, but here's the shot I took when I stopped for gas and to warm up in Hinckley. The heat in the F350 I borrowed to tow the car up couldn't keep up and I remember bundling up as if I was going snowmobiling...in the truck.
