Here are my variation of a RS door panel for my GT. I used a plastic composite sheet for the panel, fabic store vinyl that matched my GTS seats and perforated aluminum hand formed over the existing metal door tops.

those are 996/Boxter speaker grills.

We emboss the opener strap the same way we do our '73 911 RS/RSR panels

RS and GT panels use that long leather strap to actuate the opener mechanism. Pretty cheezy I agree, but thats the way they did it!
We use a clip to hook the end of the strap to the latch actuator.

I was thinking of getting a set of the RS America panels, but I like the looks of the GT panels. What is the cost of the GT panels? You can still lock your doors right? You just need to do it from the outside I assume?

We are now having door panel clips made

After scrounging these clips up from dealers and auto body supply companies for years, we finally had our own injection mold made and are having these produced. The molder finished the first 5,000 today and another 20,000 are on the way.

Yes, with the GT panels you lose the ability to lock your car from the inside, you will need to use your key and do it.

That's fine. I hate how the door gets locked by your knee pushing it. Why do you need to lock the door from the inside anyway?

We had some more tooling made to make covering easier. Attached is a pic of our 914 panel with steel top attached. We will also be selling these as shown for those of you that would like to cover them yourself. We are also installing the grommet as show on the drivers side panel.
