Dunkle's car has GT style two tone bumpers...

that'd be the ex-Dunkle car... he sold the car a while back and the new owner has yet to step forward either here or on RennList AFAIK ... i gather s/he's from out of the area so i wouldn't be looking forward to seeing it at the ECR this year ...

First off: Don't shoot! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) No, I don't have a 914 but I do have a 69 912 with a 914 engine! A big-bore 2.4L GA 2.0L specifically...

(IMG:http://gallery.rennlist.com/albums/Wind/DSCF0002_003.jpg)

Second: I am currently shopping for a 914 so please bear with me! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

The car actually stays really cool. It's got a big 911 oil cooler and electric fan set-up in the front right fender and will idle in traffic for hours if required. It normally stays at about 1/4 the way up the temp gauge in normal driving, although I had it up to 1/2 way yesterday during an indicated 120mph sprint on the highway (kids, don't try this at home!). The P/O used to race the car at Portland and he said that it never even came close to getting too hot on the track. The only downside to the pancake cooling set-up that I've found is that stray FOD in the engine compartment always works its way into the low-mounted cooling fan and gets shot upwards into the bottom of the engine lid... I have a nice dent from a cooling shroud screw that went awol on me... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Just a note on this subject... The firing order diagram on my -6 located on the underside of the engine lid must have been from a 911.... It shows the direction of travel pointing away from the flywheel.... Do any of you other -6 owners have that as well, or did the factory make a mistake on mine?
