So here is the newbie's car. A little history...
I was bumpin around on ebay looking for a teener when I found one that was in decent shape for $350 but ther reserve had not been met, obviously. When no one ever bid on it I decided to cantact the guy. When I finally got ahold of him I offered $500 for the car and he said which one. Naturally I said the 914 and he said which one. The guy had two for sale, and to make a long story short, he said he would sell be BOTH for $1000, but I need to ship them 400 miles. I ended up buying the better of the two, the other was in really bad shape, for $600!!! When I got the car I looked around... NO RUST, except for a tiny spot by the targa pillar. Solid running engine, which I sold. And a solid tranny, which I still have. There is some evidence of a very minor colission on the front left side, but VERY minor. So here are the pics. The first set is from when I got it in my driveway, and the second set is after 2 days of teardown. Just arrived After a bit of teardown -Chris |

I don't think I've ever posted here, so since I just got my second 914, here goes...
Signal Orange one: 3.6, euro RS cams, 996TT MAF, 84 915 transmission, steel flares, 993TT brakes, carbon fiber lids, leather interior, early 73 doors, early chrome bumpers, 2186#, ~300 HP. I've owned it for almost 14 years now - it was my first car and got it a couple weeks before I turned 16. It was originally a 1974 2.0. Phoenix Red: 1973 1.7. Just purchased. ~25k original miles. -Steve Attached image(s) |

I'm new here, and to Porsche ownership.
Car is a '70 1.7. I know very little about it as far as history goes. FI is in pieces and carbs are on their way. So far, I have found zero real rust. (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v239/OppositeLock/DSC04797.jpg) (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v239/OppositeLock/DSC04800.jpg) (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v239/OppositeLock/DSC04799.jpg) Lots of stuff planned. The daily: (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v239/OppositeLock/DSC04650.jpg) Coilovers, adjustable arms, camber plates, VLSD, sways, braces, awaiting 15/16" MC for Altima/Maxima big brakes. Needs more rubber and a roll bar. |
