Here's my baby. Brought brandy-new in 1971. Recently added 3.2l, 996 TT brakes, 9"&10"x18" wheels, full rollcage, Boxster S transmission. Baby goes like snot, stops on a dime, corners on rails and shifts smooth as butter. Did I miss any cliches? Where do you get flares like those? I like the way those rear flares look. Thanks Mike I would imagine they are all metal and were done with some piecut then add metal method. There are a few threads around here that show how to do that. Nice job Jim! How did the clearance on the rear fenders turn out? I had 205's before and ended up with just a little less clearance, but no rubbing. Taking the car in for re-a;ignment Monday. The rims came with Kumho Esta (or somthingthing like that), they seem to be a better ride that the Pirellis. Thanks Mark. Here'sa vintage pic of the original rims.... Attached image(s) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) Very Nice Jim. I never realized you had owned that car for so long. Ferg (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Thanks Ferg- bought it in '83. The dated pic was around '84 - '85 on a trip to Monterey and Santa Cruz. |

Here are a couple from my 75 1.8, from sunny Orange County, CA. I have had it since '84. All stock and 185K miles on the engine. Still runs strong with great compression.

What city in OC you located ? Great looking 914 ! Jim, I'm down south near Rancho Santa Margarita. We meet at the 914 meet last month in Riverside. I was thinking of buying your center console and gauges, but was too late. I thought about it for too long, same with a pair of seats I was looking at also. It was good to talk to you there. You have a beautiful 914. |
