I also added a factory O.E.M. Rear Fog Light!!! Pat: All the kool kids have them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I put it away for the winter & ready for spring 2010 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Tom Attached thumbnail(s) |

Eric, I've been following your build updates for this car here and on Facebook; like all your various build and how-to threads the work is impeccable (yes, I will be sending Eric my brakes in the near future - yes, I'm following the age old advise to be nice to those who work on your brakes)
The best caption on the rear fog pics is something like, "if that old grump Pat Garvey ever figures out how to use Facebook this is what he'll see." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) |

Here is my car right after I got it home from the junkyard I rescued it from. $200 "wasted"
(IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/k_mesaros/Car/DSCF0933.jpg) I added a battery, checked the oil and hit the key... (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/k_mesaros/Car/DSCF0946.jpg) it fired up and I drove it around the yard. (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/k_mesaros/Car/DSCF0949.jpg) I have a 2.0 crank and rods, an extra 1.7 case and plans for something more. (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/k_mesaros/Car/DSCF0942.jpg) There is not a lot of rust, it is pretty straight. (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/k_mesaros/Car/DSCF0934.jpg) |

Nice score! I like Adriatic Blue. Are you going to keep it the original color under the black? |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/welcome.png) Nice score! I like Adriatic Blue. Are you going to keep it the original color under the black? I was going to go with silver, but thought that was too boring.... I then had big plans to go with yellow, but it appears overdone.... I am now leaning towards the stock Adriatic Blue. |

Well after two years of weekend, this is what I have. A few pieces to finish but for a car that had not been driven since 1995 it's a lot better than when I sarted.

(IMG:http://914electric.com/gallery/albums/paint/Porsche_914-5.jpg) That's a good looking EV! Are you using the headlight "eyelash" openings for cooling? I would love to convert a 914 EV someday. Or at least drive one that somebody with greater skill than myself has already converted. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
