If you're having a hard time getting first, check the shifter bushings (one at the firewall, the other at the rear shift console) - replace as needed.

If they're OK, try adjusting the linkage.

Hi sir, I did replaced all the bushings and tried adjusting linkage from stick shift and still 1st gear just make rumbling sound and pops out while releasing the clutch.

It sounds like it's still not adjusted right. Bring it to the G&R swap meet and we'll see if we can assemble a crack team of scientists to fix it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party.gif)

Well, in a nutshell - yes. The G&R is a semi-annual gathering of 914 nuts enthusiasts, sponsored by 'G' (Glenn), and 'R' (Ron), consisting of a swap meet and an awesome BBQ. Lots of good, knowledgeable folks attend the event(s).

There happens to be one coming up Sunday, May 6th. If you're free that day, try to attend. Click here for details.

And please, quit referring to me as 'Sir' ... makes me feel like an older fart than I am (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Wow it would be nice to attend this and I really would love too! But sunday is my family church service and my wife and I has different ministry that we are doing for our church. Just wondering, do you know about the 914 group that meets every 3rd saturday of the month at the Orange City, CA? Take care!
