Hi all!

Well, this is my first 914. I decided that I had to join the "in" crowd at work with their 99x based 911's... However I can't do anything normal.

So, I found this. Jim Traverse built 914 Hybrid conversion Twin Turbo V8.

Just offloaded it off the truck this weekend, starting to get to know the car. This car was published in Porsche & VW magazine in 1986. I hope to restore the car back to that condition.

At any rate. I'm excited. Look forward to many years w/ the car.

Tom.

Probably so. Sorting out the minor stuff, then going to track at Mid Ohio on August 9th. We'll see what lap times are like at 8/10ths.

I didn't really like the wing at first either. Thought I would take off However;

The wing is built well. It's tied to the subframe, and transmission with Indycar style heim joins for angle of attack adjustment. It's very functional and has very substantial ribbing. It's not a laxidasical tied to the trunk or body sheetmetal drag-inducer that your normally see.

Also, I figured out the incidence and angle of attack matter. Without the wing it's very easy to spin the wheels in 3-4th gear on the highway.

Great looking car. But how did your '70 come to have front bumperettes from a '73-'74?
