Here's a throwback:
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/farm6.staticflickr.com-5360-1399050511.1.jpg) Dad with his 914 by LanceCriminal86, on Flickr My dad with his 1972 1.7 in Tangerine! He got it in early '73 when they were pushing out the '72s. If only he knew about the tail shifter vs side shifter and that the 2.0 was available! This is the 914 that started it all! Still trying to figure out if he has the VIN anywhere. He sold it to a guy named "Charlie" in California some time in the 80's, and aparently the guy had taken good care of it as he got to drive it years later when they met again. Aparently Charlie had some kind of ailment (Parkinsons or Alzheimers?) so I'm unsure what happened to her after that. Anyone happen to pick up a '72 1.7 in Tangerine, with Tan interior sometime in the 80's or 90's matching this story? |

God bless the United States Marine Corps! I wish I knew more about my teener's story. It's '72, 1.7L that was originally Irish Green. I picked it up last August in Spotslyvania, VA where it had sat for 10+ years on the property of the PO's father (who finally convinced his son to get rid of it). All I know is the PO picked it up in California sometime in the early 90's when he was in the Air Force. My 914 (and teenage son) shortly after I picked it up. Jackstand there as I had to remove the brakes which had frozen up on all four wheels. |

We had the Riviera's but with the Fuchs style polished/black color. |

I've been meaning to post a thread asking a) what they are and b) advice on what to do with the paint the PO put on them. Not a big fan of them currently. |
