Picked this up earlier this this year out of Detroit area. Need connecting of quite a few things to finish in-process restoration including motor, fuel, brakes etc. but after a little work and some new tires its on the road again. Still working through front headlight assemblies to get them installed. 1973 1.7L w/ factory FI.

Thanks, it's funny they called it Phoenix Red, it's really more orange than red. It was not the color I was looking for, but once I saw it I was hooked.

Hey my name is Damien, I have a 1974 Porsche 914 Le. It was my dads car that he bought new and handed it down to me.
I live in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. I don't know anyone that has a 914 so I'm looking to make new friends and build my knowledge as it is very limited at the moment. I'm going to either be rebuilding the engine or putting a new engine in. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Reason for the engine rebuild or new engine is because cyl 3 has no compression and I'm going to have to drop the engine anyways. I look forward to this forum, thanks for having me!!! Damien |

Hey my name is Damien, I have a 1974 Porsche 914 Le. It was my dads car that he bought new and handed it down to me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welcome.png) Nice looking Bumble Bee you got from your dad (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) I live in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. I don't know anyone that has a 914 so I'm looking to make new friends and build my knowledge as it is very limited at the moment. Reason for the engine rebuild or new engine is because cyl 3 has no compression and I'm going to have to drop the engine anyways. I look forward to this forum, thanks for having me!!! Damien Before dropping the motor for a rebuild, try performing a valve adjustment (when the motor is dead cold) and check compression readings again. Depending on the mileage, you may get by with just having the heads rebuilt, and/or new piston rings (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

Yeah, it seems that all the colors look good on the tiny cars.......un-explainable. If you have a "regular" car that is lime green or orange it looks terrible but with the 914s all the colors really do look good.
