Mikey scored some gud stuff.....picked up my prepaid air dam and rear valance....
Got some fog light grills, front sway bar, lot's of seals for the targa top and some NOS front latches....wooo woooo. Got mondo sun, I fortunately don't burn....but the 100F plus temps on the way home gave a helacious diaper rash....I KNOW TMI!!! A cold bath, some bath salts and a cold brewski will cure it.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Oh yeah...Toast let me pick her up and twirl her around....she sure smells better than Ron.... Was doing 80+ the whole way down and STILL got 25mpg....$3.97 @ Costco in Oxnard CA....kinda like Bakersfield but cooler (tempwise). This country is going into the shitter when 3.97 is considered a deal.....4.15+ for premium in Santa Barbara.... |

Thanks Glen & Ron! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Well I made the trip down & had some issues on the way. I sold alot of little stuff. Gave away alot of stuff. Threw away alot of stuff. I didn't sell my nice roller though. Was suprprised someone didn't pick it up. Is a really solid car & a good price. Oh well if anyone needs a 74 914 it will be heading towards Sacramento in the morning. Then north on I5. I'd be happy to deliver along my route (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .
Overall I covered my gas for the trip (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) . Tough to beat the company though. Mark (computers4kids) & his wonderful wife were great hosts. I stayed at their place in Visalia last night & tonight. A big Thanks to them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) . Also was great to meet so many guys from the site. I put alot of faces & real names with screen names (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bs.gif) I allready forgot most of them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) So overall the company was great. The 914 community here is strog. Can't wait for WCR (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) |

Glenn and I wish to thank all who made the Swap / BBQ a success. It is a gathering of friends and those sickness infected individuals known as 914 owners. We are proud that you take your time to haul your rust infected junk so far, spread it on the ground and then give most of it away.
I had plans to look for some things, but, as usual, the plans went to crap. Fortunately, some friends bestowed upon me a couple of things I needed as I went flying by. I missed the black cloth set of seats that I wanted as when I went back the seller was gone. They were to ditch the vinyl in the Grey Ghost. To the memories, Suzi stood proud at the gate to let all know they were welcome as friends .... yeh, it included the ass-draggers too! And last but not least, thanks for showing up Brad .... glad to have you as part of our community. |

Good times...
Thanks for hosting Ron and Glen. Although a little warm, the weather cooperated for the most part. No sand storms this time. Went looking for 2 specific items. Found one (Thanks Bruce) and ended up with a couple I didn't need. Great to see everyone. It's been a long time since I've seen so many of you guy's all in one spot. |

Parts Parts and more parts, If you where unable to find it you didnt look hard enough.
This was one of the best gathering, thanks all for talking my money, I am about $900 lighter and smiling from ear to ear. I hope the vendors did well? alot of effort went into carrying parts out and we all thank you for that, But the big dog award has to go to JRust what an adventure. I should have brought that white 914 he was selling its worth that and more for what he is asking. If anyway is even thinking about a car to invest a little in very little this is it. Its not at all a project its a add motor and go car. Someone take it. You will be happy. Thanks Jrust for the great motor/trans deal. |

One again, thank you Ron & Glen (and all those behind the scenes) for sponsoring a great event. I came with a full truck and left with it mostly empty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
For all those who bought parts from me...thank you, especially those who pre-bought parts to help me pay for the 2.4 from Jamie. Big thanks especially to Bruce for taking the time for cutting off the little bumper bracket that I wanted & Jim, oh...I couldn't believe how nice that targa pad was that you held for me! I bet you had quite a few back-up offers. Lastly, thanks big time for the two guys who practically gave me a complete air conditioning setup for my car...that was a nice suprise at the end of the day. Thanks Jrust for the great motor/trans deal. Yep....that was not a roller, it was a car without an engine or transmission. I too thought I should have bought it, even my wife said after Jamie left our house this morning "how come you didn't buy that car?" ...a weekend and that car would be a daily driver. Jamie's will be in Sacramento around 2 today dropping off an engine on the way back home to Oregon. If you want a good deal he could drop it off on the way. Here is a link to the ad he threw on sacramento craigslist last night with his cell number. Only $1200...this NOT just a roller! Attached image(s) |
