Okay folks, I still have not been able to secure a trailer for my car and a buddy so if anyone is coming through Memphis on the way I have a set of wheels and tires I could use help with delivering them to Rusty.

Memphis is our target to stop for the night on Wed. We will have at least 4 914s and a 944 coming through.

PM me if this will help.

speaking of car show....

I read somewhere that the car show details were posted, maybe in this thread, maybe somewhere else.

so...are there actually Car Show entry rules and such or is it just show up? is it judged, or peoples choice? Classes?

Just curious... Not that I'm a concours guy or anything....actually that's why I'm asking, I have no idea how car shows run!

BTW, finally got Huey back on Friday. He's running great! Looking forward to a long trip to AL!!

You do a pretty good of keeping on top of me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

My next post will contain the car show guidelines. They are very similar to the MUSR rules from a few years ago.

Great thanks....
hmmm....lets see:

a. Color change - Check
b. Non-stock wheels (Fuchs, Mahle, Pedrini or steel wheels on a car that came without) - Check
c. Addition of duct work for cooling - Check
d. Brake conversion (i.e. to BMW 325i brakes) - 993 brakes - Check
e. Significant interior changes: (i.e. ”Getty Dash”, electronic gauge package, stripped interior.) - Stripped, racing seats/belts, etc - Check
f. Bumper conversion (i.e. 1970 bumpers on a 1976 car) - all fiberglass - Check
g. Cup holders ;-) Nope!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

7. Any one of the following items will place a car immediately into Modified Class:
a. /6 or /8 cylinder engine conversion - Check
b. Modification of body beyond factory design, to include a partial installation of a 914/6 GT kit (GT fenders, flares & rockers) - Check
c. Conversion of the inductions system (to/from carbs) - Check
d. 5-lug wheel conversions - Check

So....I'm thinking Huey will be in Modified 914/6. Sound about right??

Well, with the long trip from Charlotte to Huntsville, a cup holder may be an addition by then. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Huey is all 914.... ok, all of A LOT of 914's, but basically a 914/6 GT clone of sorts.. I think we figured we have parts from 10+ 914's to rebuild him.

Anyone driving in from IL, WI, MN, MO? Maybe I'll come down and tag along with another 914 enthusiast on the way down. I'd be driving 990 miles one way from WI and would like to challenge my V-8 car to a long road trip... to prove to myself that my creation can make it there & back and to meet other 914 people... Sounds like it could be quite an adventure.

Hi Les,

I turned the list on for you. However, if I get any complaints from members, I'll need to turn it back off.

Thanks a lot Clay, We have decided to drive since caravaning with a lot of 914s wouldn't be nearly as much fun if you guys were driving yours and ours are on a trailer so any help with the wheels would be greatly appreciated. Look forward to meet all you guys, and gals.
