I'm sure Richard will tell the whole story this weekend, but last I heard he was still in the hospital. Bunch of broken bones in his face and elsewhere.

Hope you get your care fixed. It's been difficult lately.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) What happened to Richard?????? Did he piss off Riva again????

I hope you guys all have fun. I would love to make it but my car isn't drivable yet and I have got things going on this weekend that I have to do. Hopefully next year I will be there with my 914. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

No, no. Not Richard. One of the guys on a motorcycle that was up there this weekend with Richard hit a deer. Richard told me that the guy was going about 60. Richard is fine. Still goofy, though.

Ha ha...calling me out eh? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) Nah, I just decided I couldn't imagine going and leaving my teener behind on a trip it should be on. Especially when I could be working on it to get it ready for the next trip I can maybe make. Oh well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

I had an issue where the car stalled followed by a no-start condition. Happened again last night (no-start) as I was trying to get it into the garage ahead of the storm, so I'll be digging back into that tonight.

Hope to have it resolved by tomorrow afternoon for trouble-free motoring.

Dude! If I can push start my 914... while wearing a dress... and heels - you can push start your car, or park it on a hill if you're worried about it! <carpushingsmilie>

You can ask Travis Howard about his spiffy no start/slow starting fix on his 914! He thinks he's a freakin' Formula 1 driver now! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) That's the plan for the moment. Push starting that is, not heels and a dress for me.

As long as it continues to run when I expect it to I'll be happy.

Well Peeps...

Unfortunately, it appears my work will prevent me from attending Talimena this weekend. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I thought I might be able to come down very late Friday or early Saturday morning, but it looks like I'll still be finishing up this friggin' assignment thru the weekend.

I just received an email from Adam and he said he is canceling, as well as Darren & Shelly, because of the weather.

So there will be no OKIE9ELFS this year.

I guess you Texans will have it all to yourselves. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I'll miss mixing it up with you folks, so pour a lil'wine on the ground for me - I'll be there in spirit. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Richard Fisher, Avery Murphy, Jim Meyer and Betty and Clay will be headed up at around 1 or so. We are leaving from the IHOP at I 75 and 380 in McKinney.

Travis and Robyn Howard are not going. They have the creeping crud and can't make it.

Anyone else who wants to go you are welcome to meet us there for the trip up.

Y'all gonna come up I35 to I240/I40?

Edit:

Nevermind - looks like 75 would be a better route, or some other than a detour to OKC. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

A chance meeting......A friend called me and said he was at a gas station in his six where I live and there were three other 914's there too. Turn out it was Don, Ken, and Kelvin on their way to Talimena!!!!!! They had stopped for gas and my friend (pcar916) was going by and saw one and when he had turned around and came back ther were three. Don asked if he knew me, I'm surprised he claimed he did, but he did and called me and Don and I spoke for a few minutes. What are the odds of that hapening? Four 914's meeting by chance?
Wanted to throw that in. I know some on the get together will be checking the 914 site. Tell Richard "HI" for me. He might remember me from the MUSR Hot Springs gathering when I had my orange factory six.......'Yall have fun and be safe........JT

I hope everyone has fun and doesn't get washed away in the rain that's predicted. Hopefully I can make the run next year.

Well, the rain came last night. Brought hail with it too. Don't think it was big enough to hurt anything, but I sure didn't like the sight of it.

Yep... Imagine my surprise to see 914's in the gas station! It was great to meet some (new to me) teeners.

We in the Ozark Region just had our biggest charity event yesterday. Lot's of local vendors and many Porschephyles of all car types. Naturally there weren't enough 914's since they were all in OK!

I hope everyone had a great time, and a safe one too. I'll make a BIG effort tp come to next years event. Maybe an Arkansas road trip?

See ya'll

OK Ron -

Well, the weather sucked starting Friday night when the storm rolled in. Like I said earlier, there was a little hail, fortunately not enough to damage our cars. But then it rained on and off all night and Saturday. And it was foggy on much of the Talimena road. Now that wasn't enough to stop us, but it certainly slowed us down.

Short video of the soup:

Little bit longer one:

Kinda stinks. However 5 of us (well, 5 drivers and Clay) ran it again on Sunday morning on the way home. Definately the long way home, but definately worth it. The weather was beautiful. I've got a little video of that, but I need to trim it some. I'll post it tomorrow night.
