Today I went VIN hunting for this forum. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Could trace two new VIN´s of dead cars. 4732905250 4742914816 Location: North of Frankfurt/Germany. Sitting there for years, together with other 914´s that where parted out and left unprotected from the elements. Many good parts have been rotten away. Sad sight though. The Karman Body-number in the door sill doesn´t make sense to me, any thoughts? The black one seems like a good candidate for a Bumblebee Limited Edition!

The Karman Body-number in the door sill doesn´t make sense to me, any thoughts? @Arno914 I think it is just missing the leading 0, should be 0919527 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

Thanks, that makes sense. When enlarging the original photo it looks like they did´d set the stamping tool correct on that monday mornig at the karman factory. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)
And yes, it was a bumblebee most likely. But over the hill... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif) Arno |

Appears to be Ravenna Green. FB listing in Saugus, Mass. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1...a4-e5287ebde791 Sorry to bother you with this but I don't know how to list a VIN without it appearing in the database as mine. Thanks Steve |

How do you edit / update a car that's already in the database? Mine shows the previous owner... well, it's now mine and the car is completely different!

Mine shows the previous owner... well, it's now mine and the car is completely different! @roblav1 just add a new entry and add the current info you'd like to share. We don't "update" a single car record, rather we want to keep a history of ownership. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Hallo Harald,
wo steht der denn? Sieht auf den ersten Blick nicht ganz hoffnungslos aus? (Where did you see this one?) Viele Grüße, Arno |

Found this one advertised for sale in Germany 06/2021. Unfinished restauration. Apparently 4x new fenders and a bin of parts.

Thank you @Arno914
This car appears to have *real* 916 front and rear bumpers! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) |

Those 916 style bumpers were quite popular here in Germany. Mostly seen on cars that were otherwise severely rusted and held together with tons of bondo. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif)
Seller is asking close to 6k, considering the value of the 4 new fenders and the fact that it looks complete might be interresting for parts or an ambitious rebuilt. |

Another one, this time a "6":
9140430244 Currently under restauration in Germany. PO had it stored for many years. Very little rust. On the Celette to check the front end due to a light hit in the past. Not mine! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Cheers, Arno (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/up.picr.de-24260-1627574904.1.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/up.picr.de-24260-1627574905.2.jpg) |
