Looks like it was a junk yard rust bucket made into a vintage race car. Now it is a 914-6 GT tribute with a 2.4L in it.... |

Dead 75 914 looks to be a 1.8 in red. Parked in by a back yard in Michigan.

Spotted in Cos Cob, CT, last week while on East coast vacation.
Late ยด72. Not mine. Hellhole patched up. Converted to carbs. Could need some (rust) attention. VIN 4722921345 is already in the database, owner is a member here but inactive for over 10 years. (Hope it is okay to post pics here.) Not mine. Rests on an outdoor playground near Bonn/Germany. Cool place, we spent a friends birthday weekend there, sleeping in an old caravan in a huge indoor (!) campground. www.basecamp-bonn.de Cheers, Arno (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/up.picr.de-24260-1652962391.1.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/up.picr.de-24260-1652962393.2.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/up.picr.de-24260-1652962394.3.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/up.picr.de-24260-1652962395.4.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/up.picr.de-24260-1652962396.5.jpg) |

Not mine. For sale in Germany 05/2022. Used to be a blue (Marathon metallic?) car. In some areas rust had been patched up but might be good for a full restoration? VIN R.I.P. (Rust in pieces)
I had the pleasure of meeting Frank Rattasid owner of 86 Auto Recyclers and Nineapart in Wroxeter, Ontario yesterday. Nineapart was dedicated to parting out only Porsche cars. Frank is retiring and winding down the business. He closed Nineapart in January and he is closing 86 Auto Recyclers at the end of this June. Frank has five 914s left in his 86 yard and he let me go through them for anything I may need (except for door handles and instruments/consoles). He charged me fair rates for what I took - it was not a fire sale ($450 for 2 targa tops, 4 popup motors, 2 turn light buckets and one rear glass). At the end of this week he said they will be crushed and sent out to be melted for scrap. The cars are not rebuildable. The rust is extreme on all of them, one has even folded in half. No interior parts worth salvaging. Most are stripped bare, no seats or interior panels. Only three have engines. I don't need anything from these cars - I didn't really need what I bought either, but I always wonder if there is something else that should be saved before they start a new life as a piece of re-bar in a bridge... Not much time left... Any suggestions if something should still be harvested for the future of the community before crushing? It is safe to consider these VINs gone. 4742907471 4732913913 4732904934 4742907764 4742900805 |
