I bought this car in February 2007 from our former member "Rouser", Roy Galen. It came with another '73 2.0 parts car which was badly rusted and a load of parts. It had a bad wheel bearing which I replaced (both) and I changed the rear springs to #180. It has factory sway bars front and rear so it handles pretty well. I haven't done much else to it beside add gas and oil. The car was not originally red but it was a pretty through job with the trunks/jamb/etc painted as well.

It came with a few rust problems: rear trunk, trunk lid, driver/pass floors, jack plate, and other minor paint bubbles. It also has a IMSA f/g nose on it, but Roy had already collected a nice bumper/cap/valance. The best thing about it is it has been converted to five lug Fuchs and they are real not fakes. The hell hole is not bad at all really. It also has A/C and dual 44 Webers on the otherwise stock 2.0.

I've now cleaned out the garage to make room and today I moved it in with my race car (also a '73).

The plan of attack will be:
-replace rear trunk floor
-replace driver's and pass. floors
-remove the front end and replace with stock
-repair all the rusted areas
-remove the rear reflector
-paint
-drive as if stolen

I've built a race car, so lets see if I can work on a street car. I will do my best to keep my sawzall away from it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It looks pretty good when wet and at the right angle and distance...

BTW- that targa bar is raddle can painted not vinyl and the lower chrome trim is 1/4 "chrome" pin striping tape.

I always like the '70's "bubble gum" colors. It's a color I won't have driving up next to me at a stop light.

I've torn between the red which would match my race car and be the same color scheme that I've owned since 1979 and the original Olympic Blue you see hiding under the red.

What say you friends???? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I always loved Guards Red, and would've repainted it that color had I kept the old girl.

MY GOD! Long time, no see! FINALLY, somebody gettin' to all the stuff I wanted to do but couldn't make time for.

Yep, what he has was exactly what I bought back in '99, save for a few extras I stuffed in it here and there (stereo, cockpit cover, and such). I'm no metalman by any stretch of the word; Paul owns all the torchy and sparky stuff to make it all doable. But I always wanted to peel that nose off for the longest time.

I gotta come by and give you an update, plus to see all you've accomplished.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif)

I had to weld in a patch piece to the left of the lock cuz the rust was thru to behind the bumper and the metal was too thin to weld to.
