Dr. - I believe that extra was mine. Had two in my kit (four total gaskets). You handed me gaskets to use as well.

As a precaution - JAMIE - please double check the tranny I rebuilt for you.

Chris (helios) and I just returned to my shop in Anacortes. What a weekend!!!

First and foremost: THANK YOU John for being such an gracious, accommodating host and allowing a bunch of ruffians into your way-cool shop for the weekend. Personally, thanks for allowing me use of your welder and other tools needed to get my shift coupler modified so I could get home. Any time you find yourself up in my neck-o-the-woods, Mi shop, su shop!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Please let your wife know that I said thanks for letting us play at your house this weekend and for putting up with all the noise.

THANK YOU Dr Evil, for everything!! Knowledge, stories, cigars, and a healthy round of BS for all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I really enjoyed hanging out and learning the 901. Thanks!

Thanks to all the rest that I met, the names are many and most have escaped my brain, but I never forget a face. I hope to see you all again at another gathering.

Just got home myself. Aboslutely awesome weekend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) . I had a blast & learned alot.

Big thanks to Dr. Evil for making the trip out & helping me so much with my box! Despite my screwing everything up & mixing gears from 2 transmissions together (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (one of my spare's I pulled apart knowing we needed parts).

Huge thanks to John for putting up with all of us (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

Morgan is just cool as hell for building my second box for me. Was planning to do it today but he was up to learn. The box he ended up bringing wasn't the right one so he built mine instead. Saved me alot of time. Thanks dude (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It was great meeting everyone & working all weekend with fellow 914 owners. Can't wait for the "Falling leaf tour" now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)

Hey Cory we'll have to figure out a time for you to come down. I've got the transmission for you. Come weld my suspension ear & well both be happy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Man, that was a hella lot of fun. We're doing Type 4s next summer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Nate, thanks a bunch for the part to get me back together. Everything is good, just need to open the case back up and put in some seals. Right now, I have a rebuilt 901 that is guaranteed to leak!

It was great to see guys that I knew again, and to meet guy that I hadn't.

Now, I gotta figure out how to deal with Dr. Evil until Wednesday... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Check your junction between the tail cone and int plate on the top by where the ground strap goes. You should see the paper gasket there. If not, I am guessing that this one is yours and I can send it to you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well..shoot. There were 4 gaskets in the kit, I used the two you handed me for the plate to box seals and one "extras" from the kit for the tail cone, leaving one seal for others.

Is there a difference? If so, I cry "Mine!" (and "Damn!")

Nice pictures!

Jake - thanks for hosting! You're a gentleman. What a great shop - like working in a big-guy toy store.

Mike - appreciate the expertise and patience.

Corey - thanks for talking me through the teardown

Jamie - thanks for tearing down your core; the dog teeth and synchro were mucho appreciated!

All - it was great to meet you; now I gotta get the teener running again!

Scotty,
Check your tail to int plate for the paper gasket. No need to pull the cone.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) O Y S T E R S.....Live and LOVE longer!

John; thanks for the shop and the hospitality. Amazing time and lots of good memories for later. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Dr. Evil. Thanks for the experience I can't really find words to describe. Good luck in the J-O-B! Let us know when back in Washington, I will check for restraining orders! You heard my story of how I give tours of the first 5 miles of WA State.....I have more to show off!

For those in Cali waiting for the Tranny Clinic.....bring wigs and skirts! You will have a better time! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)

If you have a tail-shifter and you think you are just about done......wait for it, soon you will hear a needle bearing dropping down inside tranny and WAY DOWN INSIDE the differential. Just smile, its part of the learning process! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif)

Great time seeing you guys and now bring on:

THE FALLING LEAF CLASSIC! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hopefully this will give me some mooching credit

I am a happy camper. I have a clean and ready 901 for my project and I learned a lot. Thanks John for the hospitality and Mike for patience and guidance to finish my tranny as I was the last person to complete...
