Been working on the front valance from Brant. Needed welding, metal shaping, priming, texture and finishing. Ready to install.
Valance and bumper get installed tomorrow. Then I need to get the foglight grills finished and installed. I also have made three attempts to refinish the top and I have had both paint and dust issues...third coat applied today with a 3 " roller and I think we are good. Pics forthcoming... |

My fourth attempt on the targa top. A little bit of dust found its way to the top as the paint was drying... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) ...again. This will suffice.

I'm back. Got side tracked by a couple of Bimmer airheads. But, I went to a couple of meetings and now I am ok. Dusted off the six and now I am back at it. Need to attack a couple small tasks to get my bearings again. Can someone please tell me the size of the foglight grill screws and nuts. Mine have gone missing...trolls or something. And the size of the bumper bolts (through the donuts)?

The beast needs some love up front. The valance has been ready for a while, just needed some new screws and speed nuts. Next the fog covers look like they must be attached before the front bumper can be attached. As I have never attached a front bumper before...I'm wondering if the fog light position is critical, and or if it can be re-adjusted with the bumper on? Please school me. I'd hate to attach everything and find that the fogs cannot be adjusted with the bumper on...and have to disassemble the bumper to get at the fogs to adjust.

I install the front bumper w/o the fog light grills in place. There are small screw retainers that clip onto the 4 corners of the foglight opening that the screws going through the foglight grill screw into.
I mount my fogs straight up and down and then once the bumper is on I measure from the center of the headlight to the center of the foglight and then when I pull the car into the garage, I mark the headlight hotspots on the wall with painter's tape and then make a mark referencing the distance from that hot spot to the foglight center and adjust the foglight accordingly. Then I install the foglight grill. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Looks great Need to re clock/lower those torsion bars That's funny, cuz if it is that bad and you can see it from the front in a shadow with a bad picture...that says a lot. The reality is that I indexed those when it was on the lift and once on the ground it is really noticeable looking at the front fenders from the side. It actually looks like it has a lift kit on it. But the flange sticks up as it butts against the car, it means the attach holes in the bumper are lower. The rear of the car hasn't been messed with, and the bumper looks OEM...but re-chromed. Do I want to massage that flange, or is it better to elongate the holes in the body to match the holes in the bumper? I need about 3/8ths movement some where. Sorry for the sideways pics.
