I'm offering for sale a complete kit in order to mount an A/C compressor on top of the motor which requires no cutting to the engine shelf. I've been running a similar setup for some time with good results. (See this thread here : http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=192917) The compressor mounts directly to a non-smog engine fan shroud with no cutting or drilling.

This kit includes:

Compressor
Mount
Puller Adapter
Plated Pulley
Hardware
Belt

A few notes:
-The compressor is currently set up to run R12. In order to run R134 the oil in the compressor needs to be changed out. I can do this for the cost of oil.
-The compressor fits without any major cutting or drilling however there may be interference with the engine bay insulating pad so minor modification to the pad may be necessary.
-A swivel allen wrench will be necessary to install the pulley adapter.
-Cosmetically the welds didn't come out perfect as I would have liked so if I make any more, they will be at a slightly increased price. This mount is still 100% functional as is.
-This kit, in theory, can be mounted with the engine in the car with the removal of the front tin.

I have a 1976 2.0, that originally came with an air pump, but the pump has been removed by the PO. Can this kit still work, or can it be modified to work?

Hello, I am hoping to purchase a pulley addapter if that is still possible. My effort is using a serpentine belt and a micro "vane style" pump that are now available. Thanks, Peter

I would be intersted in the same. Surprised the compressor is set up for R-12 with is virtually NLA . . . we'll not quite but stupid expensive none the less.

I was hoping he was still active and would reply. Guys, just bought the A/C kit from Classic Auto Air for my '74. A/C isn't an option down here in TX. I'm going to have to do enough cutting as it is and I don't want to cut into the engine tin/self, if i don't have to. I didn't see anything in the vendor area. Thoughts?
