Thanks, I found a thread by Clay detailing what he did and now that I think of it I might have made SirAndy a pair of spacers 10 years ago or so.

You did and i ended up not using them. Not sure what happened to them, they're probably in one of the boxes of stuff i left with McMark.

I pulled the 944 turbo axles and stubs from my car. That includes the spacers.

Do you need them?

Early morning surprise.

Mark Howard drove down in his beautiful 911 SC to drop off a pair of cleaned up and powder coated trailing arms. That is a 100 mile round trip for him.

I showed him the 914 and my shop and 20 minutes later he was headed back home. Thanks Mark. Now to get my tail out in the garage and make some progress.

Mike, I picked up that core 1.7 motor from you a couple years ago. Thanks again for that. It sounds like you're through your bearing issues but if not keep me in mind. I do a lot with bearings every day as I rebuild electric motors, gear boxes and pumps for a living. I know we get a better deal than anybody around here,(Modesto). I also have all the dimensional bearing charts and stuff to ID bearings.

Can't wait to see this done as I have the same 6 in my Honda pilot. I always thought that would be a great swap and I'm at 155k with only a routine timing belt/water pump so far. Those engines are awesome!

Hey 914 bub, yes I do remember you, recommended your shop for a motor rewind, they went with new instead.

John* is in the process of doing the bearings once he gets back from the store.

Anyone guess what I am making on the mill besides a mess?

*cannot think of his screen name right now.

Worked on the 914 today...

Was making progress until I put the front wheels on.
Studs too short.

Oh well. Will order some longer ones.

Boxster front calipers fit under the 15x7 Bbs-mahles luckily, today was the 1st time testing it out.

I've been waiting to see an update! Glad you are back at it. I remember that you have AC in your garage, and I'm hoping you have heat as well! Let me know if you organize another work day.

Thanks, felt good working out there, been too long.

Not shown are the braided brake lines with banjo bolts for the calipers.

Happy New Year...1st day of 2020 and I am working on the 914. Not a bad start.

Test fitting Boxster rear hubs and calipers.

I took an old rear bearing and ground the ID and OD to make it slip fit for testing.

Look at that! 2020 starts with the proverbial "good day's work" and ends with what looks like a wonderful outcome!
Excellent, Mr. Mueller. Simply excellent. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
