long story short, the PO cannot wire cars so assume the worst

first is first, im assuming this blue wire is for the horn at the ignition

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i1067.photobucket.com-20767-1485140579.1.jpg)

i also found this blue wire attached to the relay board under the kneeboard. guessing this goes to the ignition

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i1067.photobucket.com-20767-1485140579.2.jpg)

it is attached to the relay board here, same spade connector as the only non corroded terminal

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i1067.photobucket.com-20767-1485140579.3.jpg)

this disconnected wire goes to ground i assume?

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i1067.photobucket.com-20767-1485140579.4.jpg)

and lastly, what is supposed to go to the pole #6 on this connector?

Jeff:

thanks for that hand drawn diagram - might be the clue i needed

i've been working on my wiring to rewire/mod a few things & fix the euro-park feature which had been reversed ever since the car came to USA,

and found a disconnected gray wire near the new JWest panel - it has an oem female spade on it & looks like it ought to belong to the fuse panel

- but i could not find it in my wiring chart - has no continuity to any other point that i could find so far - and does not have 12v on it anytime

(it's NOT the wire that feeds the trunk & license lights - i have a different gray one for that - and fixed it after 30 yrs)

i also find another cut-off gray wire & am looking for what that belongs to - same no continuity, no 12v
.

i just checked my harness and i found about 12 problems with it that would have left me stumped for days.

5 of the pins were in the wrong location (thanks PO) the buzzer wire seems to have been broken off (thanks PO) and now im only missing pin 1 which is not the end of the world i guess, or i can make it work and get my buzzer back

making a new harness and getting these electronics finished after my check hits! im so grateful.

I have to figure out where 2 more of the wires that were disconnected on my relay board go, but ill tackle that once this work is done!

Glad to help gents.

I am looking for the similar late 1971 version of this steering column that has the 14 pin connector if anyone has a decent one they can sell me. I would make similar diagram of that available as well.

I might in a little while. Once I finish taking apart my car for paint, I have a nos column to replace the old one. So give me a little time and I'll be able to contribute the old one to the cause.

That's superb! Thank you. Just to be clear, the 14-pin connector I am talking about is at the steering column. 1970 through early 1971 cars have a 12 pin here, later 1971 have a 14 pin steering column connector.

The chassis harness of all 914s have a 14 pin connector at the relay board.

Only the late 1971 has a 14-pin connector at the steering column, which is the only one I am interested in. If this is the one you have, let me know!
