I dont know why I still have this car..... ?

here is an honest little car that spent most of its time in the Washington & California climate. Therefore
absolutely no rust that I could find.
The car was very well maintained by its previous owners and is in excellent condition as we speak.
there has add a partial respray some time ago and the paint still shines and present very well. Altough there is a few
rock chips in the front but nothing dramatic.
The color is original Bahia red .
The engine is a 2 liter period correct with a desirable GA series and retained its original D Jetronic fuel injection.
The engine pulls very strong and do not smoke or burn any oil.
The transmission is also the desirable side shift 5 speed and shifts very well throughout all gears.
Interior is flawless , nice carpets, nice dash , nice seat, no tears, all gauges work , the only thing not original is the radio
but I have an original unit I can throw into the deal.
Targa top is in excellent condition so is all the glass and trims.
Doors shut with the nice ``clunk`` that we like . And all gaps line up nicely.
Calipers have been refurbished, heat exchangers and muffler are like new, both chromed rear and front bumpers do not show
a trace of pitting or dents

Only thing not working is the windshield washer mechanism which uses the pressure from the spare front tire. ( I think there is
probably an air leak ( to be investigated)

Things done since my ownership ;
5 lugs wheel conversion & 911 front suspension . ( see new pictures at the bottom )
New front ball joints,
New front Bilstein strut inserts,
New rear rotors & hubs,
5 lugs 6 x 15 Fuchs wheels,
5 new tires barely used
new fuel injectors,
new rear shocks yellow bilsteins with 140 lbs springs wich make the car handle like a champ on twisty roads.
added center console gauges ( voltmeter and oil temp ) I also have a working clock but not installed.
New battery,
Momo protopipo steering wheel ( but I kept the original if you want to replaced )
Added exterior mirror on the passenger side to have that sporty look and a more secure side vision .
And finally a 914-6 chrome exhaust tip .

So here you have it . Asking $ 19000 USD . lots of pictures available...!

here is a link to the original for sale thread from when I bought the car ,,,,,,,, lots of positive comments

Amazing that no one bought this car when you posted it for sale before and even after your upgrades. 19,000 is a very fair price even without the original engine. What is the process for buying a car in Canada and bringing into the USA ?
Are there additional fees that must be paid ???

Thanks, I hope it goes to a good home.

Probably someone will have to pay brokerage fees , and transportation depending on location of the buyer.

thanks

Is it as simple as towing a trailer across the boarder, buying the car and trailering it back or do you get held up in customs and pay them tax's ???

Just wanting to know how the system works, I have seen some good deals on your side.

The car is more than 25 years old so, not subject to emission control. But This is a USA car already and has the compliance certificate on it with vin number. So not an issue. I have a clean title for the car with no liens. And I will supply a bill of sale .
I Know you can broker the carf your self if you drive it across the border, This will save you some fees but you will need to fill some paper work at the border and they will inspect the car. Again pretty simple. cheers

I brought a MGA back from Ontario (to Mi. ) last year, with no drama, and a small customs fee. With a older collector car it's easy. Nice car by the way!

Does anyone know this car and seen it in person? I like he photos and the tasteful modifications but before I make the journey to Canada I'd like to hear from my fellow 914ers.

Pm the owner, believe it came out of Calif then sold to current owner. Been on and off The market the past year. My advise, buy the car, lots of people get into the 914 world on the cheap then spend more then what this seller is asking.

Have you thought of putting it on Bring a Trailer auction? Cars seem to bring in good prices there. Might be worth the fee.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) there are no 914s on there now and your car is much nicer than the recent offerings... Good Luck!

Seriously, this is a really nice car with all of the right upgrades. I don't understand why it hasn't sold yet.

I have had good experiences selling and buying on BAT and I think this car would do really well there.

This is a beautiful car & I was considering it last year. I think for $19K people are holding on for a matching #'s car. Although, as time goes by, they seem to be heading into the $20 - $25 K range. Also there is the Canada factor.
I bet this car would sell quickly at $16,000.
E-Bay with a reserve?

I'd take it at $16K if he brought it over the border!

BAT will not let me set my own reserve on the car,,, they suggest a ridiculously low reserve.. wich I will not go for..!

Great looking car! Like the others have mentioned the Canada issues and possibly being at the upper end of the price scale are working against the sale. But from looking at the car and the mods it all seems very nice. Good luck with the sale. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif)
