I had all of the instrument lights go out on me recently. Is there a single ground point for them? If so, where is it? I checked the defrost light wire aft of the shifter. That's not the problem.

Probably the ground behind the fuse panel, drivers side. You might also have a dash light subharness that could be disconnected, its not very long, is behind the dash gauges, look for any of the black/blue striped wires to find the common single connector to the main chassis harness.

the common black/blue striped line was the one i was going to suggest - it runs thru all the dash lights - if there is a gap "early" in the chain, they all go

I had the pot go in my headlight switch. Lost all the dash lights. Rather than muck with it (I mean, they are so damn dim even with LEDs, why a dimmer?) I just bypassed the pot on the switch and have them just full on when I pull the lights.
The pot went before I upgraded to the LEDs. Sadly, you have to pull the knee guard to get at the switch otherwise it would be an easy thing to check. |

The car came with a JWest fuse panel installed by a PO. When I lowered it, the common ground point was obvious. This rectangular flasher fell out from above the lower bolster. There is also a flasher module on the back of the fuse panel. Any idea which is which? What is the empty relay supposed to feed?
